Random stuff

Here's a tip. Don't burp in your helmet. That is just so gross. On the flip side, when riding your moto you can fart as much as you like and no one seems to notice lol

Nasho

No adventure would be complete without a ride through the Royal National Park every now and then. So killing two birds I took the opportunity to have lunch at Bundeena and on the way back checked out a wedding venue with the family at Lillyvale while doing a bit of exploring. Jono managed to get a great shot of me from the car while next to me on the freeway. Loved it. Another awesome weekend on the bike.

The Retreat

It was a cracker weekend and family beckoned. Unfortunately I don't get to see my family as much as I would like. The tyranny of work and distance makes it too few visits too few times. But - with the Gods smiling on me and the planets aligned I packed the panniers and headed of for a 600km round trip double time. My brothers place first - The Retreat - for a BBQ and then mum and dads. I hadnt been to the Retreat before so at Kurri Kurri I had to make a quick stop to get directions - the shortcut lol. Should have known better but it was scenic. The stretch of dirt gave me a small amount of excitement when i hit that at a 100 clicks unawares but the bike handled it with aplomp giving a little wiggle as if to say u dickhead. When i arrived i had a well deserved drink or two which of course stuffed my plans to head to mum and dads that night. The kids loved the bike and Simone couldn't wait to get on it. A great night was had and somehow or other my brother managed to subscribe me to a premium message service but that's another story regarding that evil shit American Honey - yes bro I'm gonna tell everyone. The next morning it was soon time to say farewell and have breakfast with m&d and then head back home. This time through the middle of Sydney - bad move - through the national park following the coast back home. All in all it was great adventure and so far the longest trip I've done with the bike performing flawlessly. Fuel economy is around the 3.2l/100km. Not sure if this is good but I'm happy.

Spare?

I'm sure this is common knowledge but motor bikes don't have a spare tyre. It's not something you really think about until you actually have need of a "spare". Thankfully people a lot smarter than me have thought about this and produced a nifty little repair kit that I keep on the bike "just in case".

Nifty Little kit

Fits neatly under the seat

The long way home

I shouldn't have been surprised really. Any excuse and I'm on the bike. It's raining - I don't care. There's a quick way - I take the long way. And so it was recently. 5 minutes from work to home? No way. Lets ride around the lake up towards Macquarie pass duck into Macquarie lane and follow the back roads. Nice :) Used to ride out here when I was a teenager on a DT250 exploring. Wow and has it changed. But some bits are still the same.

Beginnings

After numerous false starts, late in 2012, I finally decided to stop with the procrastination and set about to get my motor bike license and fulfil another of the many items on my bucket list. On the 20th December I bought my motor cycle - a BMW F650GS. On the 21st December I got my Learners Permit. And so begins my personal adventure to explore the world of two wheels. Sit back and enjoy my journey - both the good and the bad as I'm sure there'll be plenty of both.
